Chappell Creek Maine Coons is a dedicated, family owned, small cattery established in 2026. We breed quality Maine Coon kittens. Our focus lies in ensuring sound genetics, vibrant personalities, and the socialization of our kittens. We provide a nurturing environment where each kitten is raised with love and care, preparing them for their forever homes. Our commitment to quality means that prospective adopters can expect healthy, well-adjusted kittens that are ready to become cherished family members.
We offer a lifetime of support. When you bring home one of our kittens, you are bringing home a piece of our family and hearts. We love to stay in touch with our families and get updates! We are not veternarians and cannot give you medical advice. However, we have fostered kittens for 19 years and have worked at emergency vet and human medicine clinic and a local humane society so we can help guide and support you for the lifetime of your kitten.
Once you have decided to add one of our kittens into your family, you can begin the adoption process!
-Complete the adoption questionnaire.
-Review our adoption contact and health guarantee.
-Once you are approved, look at our kittens.
-Once you find one, our kitten reservation fee is $500. This will be deducted from the adoption fee and is non-refundable. This fee is also non-transferable unless Chappell Creek is unable to get you the kitten. The remaining balance is due prior to the kitten leaving the cattery.
-You will be given a range of dates when your kitten can go home. We do not ship our kittens at this time. If you are traveling, we recommend that you get refundable and insured tickets. Due to the nature of this business, something may arise that would delay the date your kitten can go home. We are not responsible for travel costs or fees incurred by you.
-Pick up your newest family member! (Make sure you bring a carrier – kittens will not be allowed to leave the cattery until they are secured in a carrier for their -and your- safety)
-Take your kitten to your vet within 72 hours of bringing them home.
Our kittens are individually priced between $3,000 to $6,000. Our kittens are sold as pets only. We do not offer breeding rights at this time.

Our kittens can go home after they turn 14 weeks old.
Why do we keep them so long? At Chappell Creek, we want to make sure you are getting the best kitten we can provide. We keep them with their mother and littermates this long to ensure proper social, emotional, and physical development. This extended stay teaches bite inhibition, crucial social skills, and litter box manners, while strengthening their immune system and preventing behavioral issues like anxiety and aggression.
Key reasons for keeping our kittens for 14 weeks includes:
• Behavioral Development: Kittens learn how to interact with other cats and humans through play, which helps them develop into confident, well-adjusted pets.
• Preventing Aggression & Anxiety: Early separation (before 12–14 weeks) is linked to higher rates of fear-based aggression, severe biting, and, in some cases, destructive behavior caused by insecurity.
• Immune System Maturity: Kittens' immune systems are not fully developed until around 14 weeks, making them highly susceptible to illness if separated too early.
• Nutritional & Physical Needs: While they eat solid food sooner, they still benefit from the stability and continued nursing/grooming provided by the mother.
• Crucial Socialization Phase: The period between 2 and 7 weeks is critical for learning, but the extended time up to 14 weeks ensures they are well-socialized and prepared for a new home.
Kittens that leave too early can struggle with litter box usage, excessive grooming or wool sucking.
We love a raw diet, but we also understand that this isn't feasible for all of our adopters. Therefore, we feed our kittens a mix of Royal Canin Mother and Babycat dry and wet food. Additionally, we incorporate some Vital Essentials Freeze Dried Raw food. This is to make it easier for those who choose to transition to a raw diet later on.
To assist with your transition to the food of your choice, we will send you home with some Royal Canin food.
We recommend talking with your veterinarian to decide which food is right for you. It is important to choose a food that meets AAFCO standards to ensure your kitten stays under our health guarantee.
Every breeding cat in our program undergoes rigorous genetic and medical screening prior to being selected to pass our name on to their offspring.
We utilize the Wisdom Optimal Selection pannel and Felome Genetic testing to screen for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and more than 70 disease variants, over 55 color and feature variations, genetic blood group and drug sensitivity.
In addition to this, all of the cats in our program complete an echocardiogram by a board certified cardiologist. They must have a normal result to proceed on in our program.
All of our cats also have x-rays taken to check for hip dysplasia. These radiographs are then certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). In order to proceed in our breeding program, their hips must be classified as excellent, good or fair. Anything less than this is not acceptable and we do not want to risk the possibility of passing these traits onto any offspring.
We also take the blue eye controversy very seriously. The Dominant Blue Eye (DBE) gene can lead to serious health issues including deafness. To ensure that we only have recessive blue eye genes in our breeding program, we also conduct genetic testing for FOUR genes associated with DBE. Our blue-eyed cats also complete BEAR (Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response) testing to check for congenital deafness.
We take all of these extra steps to ensure your kitten inherits nothing but vitality. Our health protocols are the foundation of our legacy. Chappell Creek is a name you can trust!
Yes! We are registered with TICA (The International Cat Association) under the name ChappellCreek, number 114961.
What does this mean for you? Registering with TICA provides, world-renowned credibility as they are the largest genetic registry for pedigree cats. This allows me to register your kitten's litter and certify their pedigree lineage. This allows you to compete in international shows! TICA also promotes ethical breeding standards, to which I took an oath to uphold.
You may register your kitten once you send us proof that they were spayed/neutered.
